Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) is in the process of introducing a bill to create a probe into the mistakes that have led to the Coronavirus pandemic in the United States. Interestingly, Schiff serves as the chair of the House Intelligence Committee, which focuses on the threats that face the nation. Schiff was spending his time on an impeachment witch hunt of President Trump when the first COVID-19 patient came back to the country.
The impeachment proceedings spent 20 days, and Schiff undoubtable was not focused on his tasks as the committee chair. He was looking to remove President Trump from office and the President was beginning to take measures to limit the spread of Coronavirus. Schiff should have been amongst the first few politicians to develop measures to slow the spread, but he was preoccupied in trying to take down President Trump.
Schiff is clearly proving that he wants to point the finger of responsibility at anyone other than himself. This disease has proven to be unpredictable, and it is impossible to place blame on one individual, but Schiff must own some of the accountability. His obsession with attacking President Trump may have led to the rapid spread of COVID-19 and the current state of isolation Americans are being forced to endure.
During the impeachment trial, President Trump began to take action to slow the spread of COVID-19. During the trial, Trump imposed a travel ban on China in order to limit the impact from that region of the world. Trump also marked the disease as a public health emergency before the Intelligence Committee had one meeting on the topic.
Schiff’s proposed bill could help Americans see how the pandemic was aggravated by a distracted group of Democrats. It will be impossible to determine the true loss of life and economic weakness that has been caused from their negligence. President Trump did not let the trial slow him down, and he worked tirelessly to keep Americans as healthy as possible.
