Former President Barack Obama announced his endorsement of his former Vice President Joe Biden for the 2020 election in a Twitter video. Obama had not supported any candidate until this point, and did not seem to show confidence in Biden’s capabilities to lead the country. Obama has also stated that Biden holds the best set of skills to combat the economic instability caused by COVID-19.
Biden’s campaign has also picked up endorsements from political rival Bernie Sanders and other notable democrats. This pandemic has made international policy on trade and other forms of commerce become the forefront of American politics. Biden has a history of meddling with foreign government in order to push the interests of his agenda and the financial gains of his family.
Obama’s endorsement is clearly forced as he can no longer support any other major candidate without betraying his liberal cronies. The former President made a point to praise the work of Bernie Sanders and his policy during the endorsement video. Obama did not endorse Biden at the start of his campaign because he does not believe in the former Vice President, and neither should America.
Biden tweeted back to the former president saying, “Barack — This endorsement means the world to Jill and me. We’re going to build on the progress we made together, and there’s no one I’d rather have standing by my side.” Biden’s weak campaign must be held up by the former President, and all of Biden’s “accomplishments” have come on the coattails of the Obama administration.
President Trump is handling the economic impacts of COVID-19 masterfully, and the country will reopen stronger than ever under his guidance. Joe Biden is not the leader that the country needs to bring us out of this pandemic, and he would only worsen the blow.
